GM Visit to Ogdensburg NY - March 1- 2008
Circulated at the direction of the Grand Master for your Information:
Fraternal greetings Brother Webmaster,
Since M/W/Grand Master Petrisor will be Guest of Honour at our US/Canadian Lodge Friendship Night on Monday, March 10TH, we request that you do us the favour of including this event on your website and any other notices that you can so the Masons of your District will be aware of it. It is listed on the Ontario St. Lawrence District’s website and the Ontario Eastern District’s website as a District event. It is also on our N.Y. 1ST & 2ND St’ Law. Dist. website (The St. Lawrence FreeMason) as a District event, and also printed on the “official” Grand Lodge of Canada published calendar for 2008 . I talked personally with Grand Master Petrisor by telephone a few days ago and he was completely in favour of listing this on every Masonic District’s website within driving distance of Ogdensburg. We hope to see a record attendance of Canadian Masons to support their Grand Master at this event.
NEW REGULATIONS BY U.S. HOMELAND SECURITY STARTING FEB. 1ST 2008: “ALL PERSONS ENTERING THE U.S. MUST HAVE A BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND PICTURE ID OR A VALID PASSPORT!”
This year’s Guests of Honor will be:
Representing Canada – M\W\Allan J. Petrisor, Grand Master, Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Canada in the Province of Ontario.
Representing the U.S. – R\W\Edward G. Gilbert, Deputy Grand Master, Grand Lodge F. & A. M. in the State of New York.
Our U.S./Canadian Lodge Friendship Night will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008, at 7:30 P.M. in the Lodge Room of Ogdensburgh Acacian Lodge F. & A. M., located at 201 State Street (corner of State & Washington St’s.) in Ogdensburg, New York. Ogdensburg is located directly across the St. Lawrence River from Prescott, Ontario. All Master Mason’s in good standing from the U.S. and Canada are fraternally invited to attend this evening of friendship and brotherhood between our two countries. Our Lodges in New York State open and do all business on the 3RD Degree. For that reason, you MUST be a Master Mason to attend this event. Since we generally have in excess of 200 Masons attending this event, we suggest that you try to arrive at least a half-hour early to be assured of a seat. The Lodge Social Rooms will be opened at 4:00 PM on the day of the event for any Masons who choose to come early. We open the Lodge in the afternoon and bring it from labor to refreshment on the day of the event so as not to detract attention from our Guests of Honor and to allow more time for them to speak. We are planning to have fried chicken, cole slaw, rolls, and finger-food buffet style in our “down-under” social rooms after the Lodge event. There is no charge for this, but donations to our Jr. Warden’s fund will be greatly appreciated to help defray the expenses.
